Gypsy Moth

The Gypsy Moth is known to feed on foliage of hundreds of species of plants in North America. Its most common hosts are oak and aspen trees. The Gypsy Moth hosts are located through most of the US. The highest concentrations of host trees are located in the southern Appalachian Mountains, Ozark Mountains and also in the northern Great Lakes States.

Things to be on the look out for:

• The egg masses on tree boles, branches, vehicles, houses and any other structures.

• Egg masses are considered to be buff-colored after they are initially deposited in late summer. They become lighter in color as they are bleached by the sun.

• Egg mass size may indicate the population trend. When populations are declining, most of the egg masses are around 0.5" long and contain about 100 eggs, while building populations have 1.5" long egg masses containing up to 1000 eggs.

what people say

  • They took our two trims, did other trimming and cleaned up well. I am totally satisfied with their work and recommend them. They went beyond expectations.

  • We have had Jared at our home several times doing work. If you want someone to cut down your trees and clean up your mess, Jared is the man for you. You won't even see a leaf on the ground when he's done. We wouldn't think of using anyone else.

  • I met Jared at a Business Network International meeting. Every person I spoke with recommended JB Landscape Services for their professionalism, dependability, honesty, and integrity.

I asked for a load of seasoned hardwood cut in 16" lengths. Forty-eight hours later we had a full cord and a short bit more. It appeared to be a mixture of oak, birch, and hickory. None of it appeared to be green. We have burned three fires and each one has been perfect--easy to start--and each burned to complete ash.

I understand that they have since begun focusing their business solely on the tree service side of landscaping as Get-R-Cut.com. There is every reason to believe that this is the perfect realignment.

At least from this experience, I wholeheartedly recommend this family owned business.

    Thanks Baxter's. You're great!
